I read through the article and found that none of the facts have been sourced. It's a problem because Ivan Morris cites some very different facts in his translation. The biggest ones regard both the actual name of Sei Shonagon, and her personal life. While he asserts that personal details of her life were either unknown, or purely speculative, this article claims quite a few things.
If you read the notes for his translation, and this article, there's a clash between the personal details of her life (whether or not she'd married, whether or not she had children, and details of her family).
