Wiki Education Foundation-supported course assignment

[edit]

Are these Talk items appearing on the correct page?

The disambiguation makes in clear that this article is about a real-life anti-war action done by a small group calling themselves "Seeds of Hope". This course and the various comments on this Talk page all seem to think it is about a novel -- it is not. My guess is that the novel exists, and needs its own page and a new page adding to disambiguation, or (less likely) someone has mistakenly assumed that this article is about a novel, which would be unfair to these brave women (unfair whether you support or condemn their actions). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:4B00:F998:9A00:28A7:54F0:534:AD7C (talk) 15:11, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Archiving Reviews

[edit]

It looks like all the existent sections of this talk page as I write are reviews of a draft of the article, many of which appear to misinterpret the article as being about a novel. The course pages linked above refer to non-current courses so I guess there wouldn't be any harm in archiving them all. I suspect that the reviews should have been left in a sandbox and are only here by accident anyway. Dichohecho (talk) 15:34, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I would have like to have see more information about your novel Seeds of Hope. Adding headings for each section should help you discuss the novel in more depth. -Suzanne Bullock Suzannebullock (talk) 01:05, 20 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

The name of this article should be "Seeds of Hope" not "Seeds of hope". 109.144.222.174 (talk) 19:04, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't too much information on this novel. I felt like i did not learn anything about the novel. Add more to the article, like a summary of the novel. (Jayna Rocha) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaynarocha (talkcontribs) 13:42, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Very Vague

[edit]

Consider going more into depth about the book. Consider adding in subheadings such as Plot, Summary, Characters, About The Author. This will improve the page and help those who have not read this book learn more. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NicoFerrari (talkcontribs) 14:18, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A bit simple however it seems as though you do Know some important information about the book and its author. I would recommend adding a section about characters, setting, and plot. This seems to be a very basic outline of whats to come. Once the flesh is put onto these bare bones im sure this will turn out to be a good article.

Good use of links. Aadam Bandaisha — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aadambandaid (talkcontribs) 14:48, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Review Notes

[edit]

Overall I can see the basic outline of this Wikipedia page, but the information is vague. The title of the page needs to be capitalized and italicized. Though the information provided for the summary is good, more information needs to be added in about the novel in order to help readers further understand the novel. Information about the plot, characters, setting, and themes in order to help further aid in the understanding of this page. Adding in information like the author of the novel, number of pages and a photo. The general organization of the page is good as well as the direct links. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Claudiaywong (talkcontribs) 14:46, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I recommended an addition to your lead: could you add what war or fighting was going on that inspired this plowshare group to cause the damage? It is stated that they wanted to promote hope over violence, but I was wondering what violence was occurring at the time.

The draft seems bare, but I look forward to viewing the coming additions. Whirlpool2112 (talk) 01:44, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A very general knowledge of information is shown. Would be beneficial to provide more information such as a more in-depth summary, explanation of the plot, additional background information, characters list, ect. to assist the readers of this article to learn more about this book. The title is grammatically incorrect, not including the appropriate capitalization of the book title: "Seeds of Hope". Expansion of already mentioned information because it is very vague right now. Overall, decent start. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Emmaclements22 (talkcontribs) 19:05, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Adding more subheadings and breaking the story down a bit more can help to organize your page and present more information on the text you are writing about. Consider adding a section for characters, plot, setting, and other components of the text that are significant to the readers' understanding of it. Correcting the capitalization in the title for the article can help to give your page more credibility because it will be more accurate. I like that you included embedded links into your text, but adding more citations can help to give your article more information for those reading it.
