Infobox

[edit]
  • The single cover images needs an alt description
  • Most mentions of an official YT music video are done either here or in "External links"; you can either keep it here or move it below–it's your call

Lead

[edit]

Paragraph 1

[edit]
  • Add "recorded" before "by American singer and songwriter..."
  • Add "an" before "additional writer on the track was Pettibone."
  • Add "has" before "mixed pop and R&B genres with..."

Paragraph 3

[edit]
  • The "her" in "her previous short films" is unknown who is being talked about (since Madonna has also technically released short films); to clarify the pronoun I would replace "her" with "McDaniel's"
  • "Nightclub" is one word

Background and release

[edit]

Paragraph 2

[edit]
  • The use of "drawing" before "comparisons" sounds awkward to me; I think it would be fine if you removed "drawing" altogether
  • Rest is good

Remixes

[edit]

Paragraph 1

[edit]
  • There are only two sources in this entire paragraph, not to mention eight sentences

Paragraph 2

[edit]
  • Link Billboard here since it's the first mention of it in the article, minus the lead

Critical reception

[edit]

Paragraph 1

[edit]
  • Change to "Chris Wade, author of The Music of Madonna recalled that "Secret" had been his favorite song, and commended the track's production, Madonna's vocals and mixing; he declared it as "one of Madonna's finest cuts from the whole of her 90s output."" please
  • Change to " Matthew Rettenmund wrote in his Encyclopedia Madonnica that "Secret" paved way a new direction musically for Madonna; he believed that the track was more haunting musically than Madonna's previous single "Who's That Girl" (1987) and comparable to "Justify My Love" (1990)." please

Commercial performance

[edit]

Paragraph 1

[edit]
  • You could add a topic sentence similar to what is mentioned in the lead; something along the lines of ""Secret" was a commercial success worldwide." Let me know what you decide to do
  • Nothing else here

Paragraph 2

[edit]
  • Staying where? On the UK charts for ten weeks? Or at position five on the UK charts for ten weeks? Please clarify
  • Add a comma after "French Singles Chart" please
  • Add another comma after "In Austria" please

Music video

[edit]

Filming and release

[edit]
  • You would use "on" if it was just one date, but since it was filmed over a span of three days, I would instead say "The video was filmed during September 9–11, 1994..."
  • Shouldn't it it be "finished within three days", not "finished within two days" since it took a total of three days to film?

Certifications

[edit]
[edit]
  • Add the category "1994 songs" here too please

Great article! On hold for seven days, without a doubt it will pass with a few minor changes. Cheers, Carbrera (talk) 18:06, 4 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
