Move of page without prior discussion
[edit]I disagree with the Page Move. The man uses his middle initial as part of his working name. It should be "Sean T. Frazier" where ever it appears on Wikipedia and it only makes sense to have the article title match.
Why do you move pages without discussing first? I'm sure that is against Wikipedia rules. Please move it back and discuss. Thank you. AnneMorgan88 (talk) 17:00, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
- It's actually called being bold. The common standard is to not include a middle initial if they are the only one with that name on Wikipedia. I will not move it back. Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 17:34, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
- It's also the WP:COMMONNAME, something you don't like, as well as a standard on Wikipedia. See here and here. The ones using the middle initial are the Northern Illinois Athletics website and his twitter page. Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 17:38, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
- Prior discussion ("approval") is not required for page moves. WP:COMMONNAME should determine article name. At a glance, subject via his bios on employer websites and a few news articles seems to prefer using his initial, while the vast majority of news articles do not use his initial. Move seems entirely appropriate on this basis. If there is still disagreement, please include citations to advance this discussion. UW Dawgs (talk) 17:52, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
