Pinnies[edit]

So, other than having no sleeves, has little in common with a pinnifore? I wonder when this term came to the US. When I was in school 40 years ago we just called them shirts (skins and shirts), or scrimmage shirts. My guess is that the term came in as soccoer became more popular in the US, and was the term used by the British. I was recently helping with a youth PE class and couldn't figure out why the kids were talking about pennies.Flight Risk (talk) 19:23, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

British person here: as the article says (though maybe not in 2014) we call them bibs here. I wouldn't associate "pinny" with this item of clothing at all. 86.150.145.69 (talk) 00:39, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
