BLP edits
[edit]IPs keep trying to insert substantial WP:OR, with extensive overuse of WP:PRIMARY material. This seems to violate both WP:BLP and WP:DUE. If you'd like to restore these, then (per WP:BLP) you should discuss this information here and look for a consensus before including the contentious material. It appears that a new, rogue editor, perhaps a hired public relations agency, is deleting over 12,000 characters from Scott Sumner's page. This section of material includes citations, and has been written by a number of different editors over the course of months, if not years. This material cites the subject, i.e, Scott Sumner's own blog. Additionally, the material appears to be relevant to a living biography. Furthermore, the editor claims vandalism without referencing any material. Blogs are usually prohibited because they can be abused, but in this case the material is coming from the subject's own blog, The Money Illusion, not a third party blog. This is not a violation of Wikipedia's terms. I suggest that this new editor provide a reason for deleting over 12,000 characters, or a reason for why he or she thinks it's vandalism. 110.78.151.114 (talk) 21:46, 26 July 2024 (UTC)

- Yes, that's precisely the problem. Please read WP:PRIMARY and WP:OR. The consists entirely of your own takes and opinions on what is important about what Scott Sumner has said, rather than reflecting coverage in reliable sources. If you'd like to post this and vaguely imply that Sumner is a secret Chinese agent on your personal blog, go ahead. On Wikipedia, that's not permitted under WP:DUE, unless you can find reliable sources giving substantial coverage to his comments on this topic.
