The article suffers from undue weight presented as snippets of tangential information, for example a blurb about a professor who is researching a potential treatment for cancer that has little to nothing to do with science and technology as a whole. The article is filled with these little blurbs about individuals, singular events, and specific government programs. The article should be focused on the biggest influences on academia, high-level views of entire industries and their largest companies, and events that shape science and technology as a whole, not a specific project or programme.
