Hello - 23 May 2008 Jeff Atkins - I am the author

I have seem the banner indicating that the article is too long. How long is too long? What are the standards? I certainly do not want to eliminate content as there is an extreme paucity of material on this topic in Wikipedia, elsewhere on the web and even in secondary written sources.

Because of this there is a huge advantage to having the a decent survey of this topic in one place where anyone can gain an appreciation of its full richness without having to click on blue titles to go subarticles here and there.

Were there many articles on this topic throughout Wikipedia a better arguement could be made for breaking this article into segments and clicking around to view them. However this is not the case. Therefore I feel that an article of this length suits the present circumstances.

Help

My name is Jeff Atkins and I am the author of this page. I have "cleaned up" the article in the past week and added dozens of links. I think that the advisory panels at the top of the page should now be removed.

How can I make this happpen?

Yours Truly

Jeff Atkins

You can remove the "((very long))" markup on the main page, by clicking on "Edit this page" on the top/right corner of the page. This will remove one panel (the one currently visible on the page), but will put another one about the large size. I don't think you can remove that last one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.239.88.66 (talk) 19:58, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

How are we going to cut up this article

It's just two large. This should remain as the central article and the rest should be chunked off into sub-articles. Having said that - it's so large, I hardly know where to start. suggestions? --Allemandtando (talk) 18:09, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

I have chunked the three sections into three seperate articles - it was just unmanageable at it's current size. --Allemandtando (talk) 22:25, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
