Schrafft's was certainly a large, important, and long-lived restaurant chain in New York.
The idea of it's not being noteworthy in the sense required by wikipedia is preposterous.
Will consult style manual to see if it can be presented in a better light.BruceWHain (talk) 04:08, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
The fact that [Lindy's] has a wikipedia page whereas large chains like Child's, Schrafft's and Longchamps do not is what's preposterous. (not that I have anything against Lindy's wikipedia page.) These restaurant's were an important part of New York culture for a very long time! BruceWHain (talk) 04:14, 21 October 2011 (UTC
- You need to get some sources in there if you want to save it. Add information about the chain and include inline citations and make a reflist. HotshotCleaner (talk) 04:18, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
How long have I got? These linked-to pages (Schrafft's and Longchamps) were result of making links from my sandbox Luchow's (New York Restaurant) page, which is quite detailed. I did not intend to have to write them, though am starting to collect information. Heaven forbid I try to link to Child's, another big NY chain.BruceWHain (talk) 05:03, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
THANK YOU! to whoever posted the wonderful-looking reference book "when everybody dined a schrafft's". Will certainly have a look at it (as much as possible) and attempt to improve the article, hopefully, if possible, before working on pictures for the Lüchow's article. Thanks Again!BruceWHain (talk) 20:34, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
I've closed the AfD discussion as Speedy/Snow Keep, per the comments there. Newyorkbrad (talk) 02:14, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Schrafft's is mentioned several times in J D Salinger's 'Raise High The Roof Beam Carpenters'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.162.26.178 (talk) 07:05, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
- In what context, and to what extent? Is it important to the story or the character, or are they simply incidental mentions? BMK (talk) 07:10, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
