Talk:School of Advanced Study

I've just removed the following text: "Of particular note is the Institute for the Study of the Americas - formed by the 2004 merger of The Institute of United States Studies and The Institute of Latin American Studies - this school is one of the preeminent schools in the world for American Studies. It's alumni includes a number of well known journalists, politicians, economists and academics."

It's unclear why this institute is more noteworthy than any of the others (the comment about unnamed alumni could apply to several of the others just as easily) without specific evidence. A similar statement is already available on Institute for the Study of the Americas page.

University ratings

[edit]

(I'm posting this to all articles on UK universities as so far discussion hasn't really taken off on Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities.)

There needs to be a broader convention about which university rankings to include in articles. Currently it seems most pages are listing primarily those that show the institution at its best (or worst in a few cases). See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Universities#University ratings. Campus/location

"Location" works just fine, thanks. Itsmejudith (talk) 21:18, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

I'm the head of marketing and communications for the School of Advanced Study at the University of London. In the coming days I'll be proposing content for this page that addresses the need for additional citations for verification. KTetens (talk)

Welcome, and thank you for introducing yourself. If you haven't already discovered them, and to avoid future dispute, you might like to glance through Wikipedia's guidelines on conflicts of interest – WP:COI and WP:PSCOI. In brief, all neutral, factual and properly referenced additions and corrections will be welcomed; but anything that smacks of partisanship or promotion is likely to be challenged. Understood, thank you. Please see my user page for further information. KTetens (talk) 12:20, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
