[edit]I just created this page and added a brief (and quite inadequate) summary of Santayana's work. Hopefully somebody can help me flesh this out a bit more! Enjoy,

Incorrect title
[edit]The title is incorrect. It should be "Scepticism" rather than "Skepticism." Kessinger, a publisher of reprints, markets Santayana's book with a title using the American spelling, but the contents of the book retain the British spelling. I believe that all other editions carry the British spelling in the title. Santayana's stated preference was for British spellings (see his letters to Scribners, 9 September 1909; Daniel Cory, 8 april 1945; and Otto Kyllman, 9 June 1945; see also the textual commentary in any of the volumes of the Critical Edition, for example Interpretation of Poetry and Religion (MIT Press, 1989) 233).
