About whether the game used complete modern rules
[edit]"However, it is unknown whether the complete modern rules of chess were in use as of this game, because neither player castled or captured en passant."
While the game itself is legal according to modern rules, it seems pretty clear to me that the rules did differ according to Fenollar's comments in the poem, referencing pre-castling king jump rule of moving two squares ahead, condoning promotion to a queen, and that queens cannot take each other. thoughts on this? 211.220.187.183 (talk) 14:52, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
