[edit]

I reverted the recent move of this page from Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians to Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Michigan which was accompanied by an edit summary of "formal tribe of tribe, will get more hits". While the latter is the formal name of the tribe, the point about hits is false. Compare "Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Michigan" -wikipedia (1,040 hits) to "Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians" -wikipedia (471,000 hits). The convention on Wikipedia is to use the common name. The tribal website itself uses Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians. olderwiser 13:40, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposing name change

[edit]

I propose the name of this article to Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians to be more in keeping with its federally recognized name, Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Michigan. As it is the name is incomplete and confusing. -Uyvsdi (talk) 02:29, 29 July 2013 (UTC)Uyvsdi[reply]
