I don't wish to start an "editing war" so decided to start a conversation here. I believe people from Northern Ireland (NI) are usually called British because it's part of the UK and people from the Republic of Ireland are called Irish. Since she's from NI, I changed it from Irish to British but someone changed it back to Irish. GamerKlim9716 (talk) 13:14, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@GamerKlim9716: Note a. at MOS:BIO#Notes states that there isn't a preference for British over the nationalities of devolved nations and nationality should be decided on how the person describes themselves or how they are described in sources. It only mentions Scottish, English and Welsh nationalities but I don't see why the same rules shouldn't be used for Northern Ireland as it is also a devolved part of the UK. She describes herself as Irish in this source while this source, this source, and this source describes her as Irish. I wasn't able to find sources which describe her as British or where she describes herself as British so I think the current nationality should stay as is especially as she's specifically stated which nationality she identifies with.
