the local inhabitants have developed a natural tolerance to arsenic? can someone elaborate on this?
I have added another picture. Both picture currently are not repesentive of San Pedro de Atacama, they were pictures of surrounding locations. Which perahsp warrant there own page (Iwsmith)
- About the natural "tolerance to arsenic", it insnt any strange all humans have "immunity" against small amounts of arsenic. People from northen Chile due to being exposed to higher levels of arsinic in water have a higher tolerece. Anybody can adquire that tolerance it if they are exposed to minor amounts of arsenic under a long time. Ofcourse even people from from northern Chile and Bangladesh can be overexposed and being effected opf the diseases related to arsenic. Dentren | Talk 02:06, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
The Gustavo Le Paige Archaeological Museum removed its mummies from display at the request of the local Indian population. I removed the reference to mummies to reflect this. Unfortunately, I do not have a citation -- the web site for the museum linked in the article is out of date (and even quotes the wrong admission price...). There is a placard in the museum explaining this, but they do not seem to have posted any online information.
