I have reverted a large batch of edits by TerryFang who apparently is the former publisher of the San Francisco Independent. The edits were inappropriate for several reasons:
- Significant parts of the added contet were off-topic, for example the "Pioneering Newspaper Family" section on the exploits of Ted’s father John Fang or the significance of the Fang family in general.
- The tone promoted the Independent and the Fang family throughout while attacking and belittling their opponents.
- Significant claims were not backed up by the cited sources. "the SF Examiner incorrectly reported..." - that would need iron-clad references which simply weren't there.
In short, Wikipedia is not the venue to continue fighting the "Newspaper Wars". This is not an endorsement of the previous version which did seem to have problems, but the solution to those problems is not slanting the article in the other direction. Huon (talk) 16:34, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
Hello Huon, 1.) My user name is TeddyFang, not TerryFang. I understand we all make mistakes, and I think you may have been in a bit of a rush in deleting all the sourced material that I added. 2.) All information about the Fang family's impact and the impact of The Independent is sourced. This wiki is about the Fangs running the Independent newspaper 3.) This is a historical piece and not about opponents or proponents. The tone is factual and includes positive and critical comments about the Independent. 4. All non-sourced material should be at risk of being deleted. But the mass deletions also deleted more than half of the source material. In short, to be balanced this article should contain both praise and criticism, as well as accurate historical facts of the Independent's growth and expansion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TeddyFang (talk • contribs) 18:01, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
