Tidying up this article
[edit]This article is a mess and needs cleaning up! JB50000 (talk) 06:23, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for you work on tidying it up - as you can see, I've done a bit of tidying up as well. -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 09:14, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
Notability
[edit]Really? He scared Scott Brown and is important enough to warrant a Wikipedia article suddenly? Cjs2111 (talk) 08:59, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
- He was a mayor and also a senior judge. I think he meets WP:BIO. The article needs expanding but he meets notability. -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 11:16, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
- Zoll is one of 10,000 people that are notable but when a barely notable event happens, suddenly 20,000 people look it up in Wikipedia. JB50000 (talk) 07:31, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
- To be honest, I know nothing about Zoll or anything connected with him. I came across this article when looking elsewhere (I think it was a Help Desk query), and saw it was a mess, found some refs, tidied it up, and that's the end of my involvement. If I thought that he did not meet the notability guidelines, I would have either PRODed or AfD'd it. As he meets the guidelines, the reason for inclusion at this time is irrelevant, surely? As long as all statements are accurate and sourced, it is tidy, then that's the only factor surely? If any statement is unreferenced, then that could be removed until sources are found to verify the information, but the vast majority of the information in the article is sourced. As to why he's "important enough to warrant a Wikipedia article suddenly?" - my guess is that someone looked up, found that there wasn't an article, and decided to create one. I did exactly the same with William Stanley (Victorian inventor): my local newspaper reported the 100th anniversary of his death, I looked up the article to add the information, and found there was none - so I researched it and created the article. Not every subject in the world that is notable currently has an article - otherwise no new articles would be added! -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 10:53, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
