Article name

[edit]

The title of the article is too long. Would it be better to shorten the title to "BAP-Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas" and just have the complete name in the introduction?

Actually the name they were using at newspapers is "BAP-Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas". Might as well check with SEC or FIBA. --Howard the Duck 11:24, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

http://www.mb.com.ph/SPRT2007021787365.html "Resolved, as it is hereby resolved, to approve the application and admit as a regular member of, and as the national sport association for basketball in the POC the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas Inc. (to be renamed BAP-Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas Inc.)," the POC resolution stated."

OK, might as well move this. --Howard the Duck 09:51, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was reported on November 21, 2008 that the official name of the association is now just Samahang Basktbol ng Pilipinas, Inc.

From the Daily Tribune: http://www.tribune.net.ph/sports/20081121spo1.html - SBP goes on it's own as NSA (by Julius Manicad):

If there is no objection, I will move the article to Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas. Mk32 (talk) 23:07, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Acronym

[edit]

According to the SBP website, the acronym for the BAP-Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas is just SBP, not BAP-SBP http://www.sbp.com.ph

Basketball Federation of the Philippines

[edit]

It seems that we're the only country that sticks with the local name of our governing body as the article name. Would it be a good idea to change the it to an English one? Daisynians (talk) 04:11, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
