[edit]

I added some info on the new label position and home page links. The text is not the most neutral or certain, but reflects the current feelings among all the "fans" I know and the information available.

Nazi?

[edit]

In "A man in your Head", they say "Ein volk, ein reich, ein fürher". Are they nazi? -- no, they are definitely not, the opposite is correct: the text demands self-consciousness and the ability to be "your own leader, your own authority". it judges blind obedience. - Asleif 15:47, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Industrial or electro-industrial?

[edit]

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that Samael are an electro-industrial metal band, rather than just indutrial metal? This would differentiate them from, for example, Rob Zombie or Ministry (later albums) which are industrial metal bands. --IronChris 08:14, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know about Ministry's later albums but Rob Zombie is in no way industrial. The best example of industrial that i can think of is Eisbrecher and for a sample of something akin to industrial metal listen to Rammstein's album Mutter. Idustrial metal seems to me to be a purfectly acceptable genre of Samael Rats in the walls 05:33, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just Metal

[edit]

Why not just "Atmospheric Metal with industrial elements"? Seems more accurate.. because Samael is no Electro nor Industrial.. well... maybe this debate shows that Samael has achieved to create a Genre of their own! avx

To be honest, it changes from album to album, so you can't really nail them to any specific style of metal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.187.101.185 (talk) 01:29, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Info Box

[edit]

For now for genere I have left it as Dark Metal, with a mention of Thrash of their demo. I agree they need another type to reflect their latest almbums, but I am unsure for now which to call it.

If someone has a picture that we can use of Samael for the image, it would be appreciated to make the Info Box look more offical.--Atechi 15:32, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Samael is NOT a Dark Metal band. They don't sound like bands like old Katatonia, Deinonychus, Forgotten Tomb or Finnish band Ajattara. If you will dark metal staying in the page and genrebox, you should cite a very reliable source who states, that, Samael is Dark Metal, but otherwise Dark Metal will be removed. Furthermore you should check original Dark Metal definition by www.doom-metal.com.

Era One

[edit]

I may be nitpicking here, but is Era One an official Samael album? I seem to remember their website referring to it as a side project of Xy & Vorph Sammayel 12:23, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was certainly released under the Samael name, so the point seems moot. If you can find a reliable surce, it might be worth a mention in the body of the article, but it should remain within the discography. Otherwise you get into similar debates about things like Black Sabbath's Seventh Star etc. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 21:51, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Headbangers Ball?

[edit]

In the U.S. the Headbangers Ball was cancelled in early-mid 1995. Was it still on in other countries, and if not how did the video for "Jupiterian Vibe" get on the show in 1996? TJSwoboda (talk) 17:34, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Page is incorrect (Passage by Xytras)

[edit]

It was released as stand alone product. It's cover is in white (Samael's Passage is black) and these two looks like one set but it was sold as separate CD. (Maybe there is special edition of Passage, I'm just saying I bought two separate Passages) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.252.115.250 (talk) 10:41, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
