Clean up required

I have removed some Virtues of Durood which were POV and not encyclopediac. This page needs some cleanup and some new sections. I will continue to edit the article later. --Webkami 13:00, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

This Page Should Be Deleted!!

When we talk about Islamic concept, it should use none other than Arabic words! Any Persian/Urdu words should be avoided. Those words are unfamiliar to Muslims except those who speak the languages (Iraq,Iran,Pakistan,North India, Bangladesh). Ask muslims from Indonesia, Malaysia, or Saudi Arabia or Egypt, and believe me, the words would be unfamiliar for them.

The article itself, I believe, can be merged to Salam

nice try to change the true meaning

Dorood is an absolutely persian word; a word used in greetings before Islam took iran over. This is totally absurd. I don't remember such expressions in any other form than the first part being "salavat" in place of dorood. This indeed is an outrage towards true persian speakers. Durood Vs Peace be upon Him

In my opinion both have different options. Generally the words "Peace be Upon Him" are akin to a small durood and are spoken after the name of Prophet Mohammad and not with any other prophet or person, whereas Durood also contains Prophet Abraham and descendants of both Prophets. "Peace be upon him" (`alayhi as-salam) is said after all prophets by Muslims. What is said specifically after Prophet Muhammad is "Peace and Allah's blessings be upon him" (sal Allahu 'alaihi wa salam). Both of these are basically a type of dua. Durood is a similar type of dua. The issue is that Durood is a Persian/Urdu word being used to describe an Islamic concept. Most Muslims other than those from the Indian subcontinent are unfamiliar with this term. The equivalent Arabic term that would include all this would be Salawat and Salam Axiom292 (talk) 05:31, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
