Norse and Celtic deities
[edit]I removed this claim: The goddess Sulis, an aspect of Salacia is worshiped at the sacred hot springs at Bath. Sulis is a traditional Celtic deity. Celtic deities are not aspects of Greek deities, because the Celts didn't loan Sulis from the Greeks. Actually, Romans associated Sulis with Minerva, not Salacia.
The claim seems to be from a Wiccan book. Wiccan books are not good sources for writing about ancient mythologies. They aren't scholarly, and they ofter re-interpret deities and myths through Wiccan lens.
I also removed this part: In northern Europe, the Norse god Aegir and his consort, Rán are equivalent to Neptune and Salacia.. This is nonsense. Salacia was the personification of the calm sea, while Rán captured men by shipwrecks. According to the writer's thinking, Salacia and Rán are equivalent only because they both are sea goddesses. Well, now we have lots of other equivalent goddesses from around the world. --88.112.172.71 (talk) 22:23, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

- Support. None of these is very familiar, but all of the others seem to be derived from the goddess, which demonstrates long-term significance. P Aculeius (talk) 12:39, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
