Date of birth and Nemophila article

Saki's date of birth is listed in Encyclopaedia Metallum, is this valid as a reliable source? By the way, if you don't mind, would anyone like to join in the editing her other band Nemophila draft article because I created it? --Hatto (talk) 17:08, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

I'm always impressed when I find you doing great editing on Mary's Blood and Lovebites articles. Would you participate in editing Nemophila's draft article to move it to mainspace if you are willing? I might participate, I have to find the right time and motivation to work on it though. I think your English is quite good. I can't read Japanese so if you ever happen to check the Japanese source of something I added, and see a mistake or think there is a better way to translate it, then let me know. @Xfansd: Thank you for the great editing on Nemophila article! By the way, you don't seem to be able to read Japanese, but I've seen you cite several websites written in Japanese as your source. I often read texts in English or other foreign languages by translating them into Japanese using something like DeepL. Unlike DeepL, Google Translate is not very accurate in translation, so I rarely use it. I'm Japanese, so I can read Japanese, but do you read it by using machine translations like DeepL? --Hatto (talk) 13:40, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

I use Google Translate but I am always aware that it is not perfect. So if something comes out a little odd, I'll slowly delete Japanese text to narrow down and find out which word is causing the problem. Then I might type that Japanese word/character into Wiktionary and check all the possible translations listed there to make sure. Sometimes, just Googling the word or phrase can help as maybe there is a more popular TV show, video game or song that uses that same one and I can see which translation is most common. Most of the time though I use Japanese sources for pretty straight forward facts, like "this single will be released on this date" or "this is a list of the artists performing at this festival", which can probably be done without even trying to translate anything. I've seen you mention DeepL before and I have been meaning to check it out. I just used it now to check on something from Naon no Yaon that I was worried about and it did give a nicer translation and I might have to correct something there. @Xfansd: Your mistakes? No, I've never seen you make mistakes about translation. However, I have seen several times that you have done excellent editing while using Japanese sources, so I was wondering how you can do that when you can't read Japanese. By the way, this English sentence was also translated from Japanese while using DeepL. How is the translation accuracy of DeepL? Thank you for the compliment. Well, like I said I only used DeepL once today for the first time, but it did look more accurate and natural than Google Translate so I think I'll use it again. And as I said above, I think your English is quite good, so if that is the result of you using DeepL, then that speaks to its accuracy. Since you asked, I personally would change "seen you make mistakes about translation" to "seen you make translation mistakes" or "seen you make mistakes with translations." But please understand that that is truly a small error and everyone would know exactly what you mean anyway. Everything else in your last reply is perfect English in my opinion.
