Cleanup

[edit]

I have wikified the article, but it is still confusing and lacking sources. The following links seem to provide more helpful information, if they can be successfully merged into the article: [1] [2] [3] --Grimhelm 21:22, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Modern Day Miracle" section

[edit]

I deleted the anecdotal account of the girl getting a new retina. There is no source, it is pure hearsay and doesn't belong on Wikipedia until someone can prove that this event actually occurred. --Pstanton (talk) 04:41, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

More Cleanup

[edit]

I changed a minor error as part of a Wikipedia tutorial on editing for newbies, but in doing so, I noticed that most of the article is identical with one on the same subject posted in another creative-commons wiki at http://www.urbanministry.org/f/wiki/saint-mercurius. As a newbie, I do not know how much such possible plagiarization is permissible or useful, but it seems to me that the present Wikipedia article, being evidently sole-sourced (but not as well worded), does not measure up to the standard of a balanced article. IMHO the article would be improved by summarizing briefly the extensive quotes given and abstracting additional interesting information available on the Web (or in libraries), e.g. the speculation about a link between the Egyptian god Horus and saints (including Mercurius) portrayed as warriors in Coptic tradition (e.g. Two Thousand Years of Coptic Christianity By Otto F. A. Meinardus) Dragonfly360 (talk) 22:49, 16 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Saint Mercurius. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.
