"Universities"?

[edit]

It seems the UK users aren't sure where to stick their institutions in these disambiguation pages. There are many secondary schools called "St Mary's College", and so the pages seem regionally-biased. Madeinsane 21:45, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It still says, "is the name of several universities:" and goes on to list UK high schools. Maybe just, "are the names of several educational institutions" (the plural as it refers to 'St Mary's College' and 'St Mary's University). Madeinsane 17:08, 17 December 2006 (UTC) Additionally, all the UK schools listed here should also be listed on the dismbiguation pages St Mary's High School and St Mary's School, as the two terms apply to all. Suggest split

[edit]

I think it would be better if there were two separate disambiguation pages for "College" and "University". I propose changing the redirect at Saint Mary's College, and moving the "College" entries from this page to there. CarolGray 20:29, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would go ahead and do that. The current situation causes more ambiguity than it solves. Madeinsane 20:53, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'm working on this, but you won't see any change here for a while because I am fixing the incoming links first. CarolGray 08:47, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It looks good - the separate pages make a lot more sense! -- Chuq 20:34, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Good job. Makes sense to list it by the name. Madeinsane 22:15, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It took longer than expected to disentangle the redirects from the various punctuation/abbreviation possibilities - but I think I've found them all now. There are still some incoming links to disambiguate which I'll work on after Christmas. CarolGray 09:51, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
