Disputed

[edit]

The only claim of significance in the article, that she is "India's first known Muslim pilot among the 600-odd women pilots employed in the Indian aviation sector." is disputed. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 11:15, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hindustan Times reports that she " is the only known Muslim among the 600-odd women pilots employed in the Indian aviation sector." Hindustan Times, March 9 2015. I'm removing the disputed template. Megalibrarygirl (talk) 20:45, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There's a huge difference between "first Muslim woman pilot to work in India" and "only known Muslim woman pilot employed in the aviation sector in the one particular year of 2015". I'm also realising that the claim seems to be based only on a single article in the Hindustan Times. Another article in The Hindu seems to mention Syed Salva Fatima as the only Muslim woman in India to obtain a commercial pilot license [1] and another in the same newspaper [2] says Said to be Karnataka’s first Muslim woman pilot, Saarah. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 01:43, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I have now rephrased the claim to "According to a news report published by Hindustan Times, Ahmed was the only known woman Muslim pilot in Indian aviation sector as of March 2015." §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 06:59, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I'm going to have a look at the rest of the article as well. Some of the facts are clearly contradictory - particularly the one about the claim that she didn't have initial support from her family. In another interview, she said she faced no opposition ever from her family. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 08:49, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
