Refimprove tag
[edit]I've tagged the article with {{refimprove}}, however, I believe I can source much of it with Fifty Famous Liners by Frank O. Braynard and William H. Miller. Just not this evening. SchuminWeb (Talk) 05:04, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- Sounds good. I'll look for more and better sources on the internet. Gunbirddriver (talk) 01:03, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- I saw your clean ups, SchuminWeb. Those all look like good changes. Do you think we are ready to remove the Refimprove tag? Gunbirddriver (talk) 19:40, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think we're there just yet. I've fact-tagged places where there should be a citation, and now it's just a matter of putting sources in those places. SchuminWeb (Talk) 00:27, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Merge with USS Europa (AP-177)
[edit]It has been suggested the article on USS Europa (AP-177), the designation given the ship while it was in service as a troop transport following the war, be merged with the article on the ship Europa proper. I think the two should be merged, as they are the same vessel. Gunbirddriver (talk) 20:03, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
- Agreed. Seems a no-brainer, especially since the ship was built as a passenger vessel, was a passenger vessel before the war, and again a passenger vessel after the war. It served as a transport the way a number of other ships did - because extra trooping capacity was needed due to the war. It's a similar situation as the SS Imperator, which was a German passenger ship, seized by the US for trooping purposes, run as such during the war, and then afterwards handed over as reparations to an allied country. In Imperator's case, there is no separate article, and the title for a military article redirects to the main article - like it should be. There's really no reason for Europa to have two articles. [edit]The Willoughby work looks like a good reference. It would be best to use it as such to support the text of the article. Gunbirddriver (talk) 18:30, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
"Built during the 1930s"
[edit]I have changed Was largest German ship built during the 1930s to "during the interwar period".--Adûnâi (talk) 17:37, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
Also, it reads, "Captured by Allied forces". Shouldn't it be "by the Allied forces"? Or either way?--Adûnâi (talk) 17:39, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
