Curiously, while researching for information about a May 1987 local election, I've noticed the South Wales Echo political reporter refers to the "Alliance Party". The people who are standing as the Alliance Party are the same people, as a whole, who stand as Liberal Democrats in subsequent elections. Was the "Alliance Party" a common way of referring to the SDP-Liberal Alliance? If so, maybe it should be mentioned in the intro for this article. Sionk (talk) 11:42, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
