Problem with Neutral Point of View

[edit]

Hi, I am Michael, and I have contributed a lot to the Tarik "Rvssian" Johnston article. I actually started it myself. My mistake was that when I created my User Page I also named it Tarik "Rvssian" Johnston thinking that it needs to be this way to reflect on my article. Later on I retired from the Tarik account and created a user page with my own name and I have since been contributing to the article.

In the article, there is a warning sign about the creator of the article being related to it's subject, which I am not. Is there a way to resolve this? I am new to Wikipedia.

So to confirm, you aren't Tarik "Rvssian" Johnston, and you didn't make the article on his behalf? You just made it because you are a fan of him, or something like that? Joseph2302 (talk) 13:17, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Michael Peter Bundi 20:32, 7 May 2015 (UTC)Yes. I have followed up on Tarik "Rvssian" Johnston and in my search on Wikipedia for his name, I could not find his name. All I could see was references. This led me to research about him and draft an article. I just joined Wikipedia and I was really misinformed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tarik "RVSSIAN" Johnston (talkcontribs)

Michael, you can go to Wikipedia:Changing_username and request for your user name to be changed. This is indeed the best thing to do as we have policies against using account names that can represent an impersonation of another real person. As you state this was from an misunderstanding of the website rather than purposely, this can be done quite easily and would need to be done before any further editing on articles is continued. As far as the COI tag, that can be removed after the name change. Calmer Waters 05:54, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
However I'm still concerned, because the user has been interchangeably using 2 accounts (Tarik "Rvssian" Johnston- the account that has been renamed- and Michael Peter Bundi). Joseph2302 (talk) 09:41, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
