Birthplace
[edit]Rupert Hill (born 4 May 1978, Belfast, Northern Ireland is a British actor, best know for playing Jamie Baldwin in Coronation Street since making his debut in 2004. Other programmes he has guest stared in include: Brookside (as Darren Murphy), Inspector Morse, EastEnders, Cracker, The Bill (as Mickey Stewart), Chalk, Roger Roger, The Detective (Terry) and has guest appeared in the Patrick Kielty Almost Live show.
Did he live in the city of Belfast for long, or is his real accent different from that of the one that he uses on Coronation Street?
Well I too am skeptical that Hill lived in Solihull and was born there. I'm not sure what you mean however by his accent in Coronation Street. As I never seem to hear it many people in Solihull though don't have accents as only the upper class and rich people live there.

Corrie star Rupert Hill corrects internet lies about Solihull upbringing Jun 2 2011 by Roz Laws, Sunday Mercury
According to the internet, Coronation Street star Rupert Hill was born in Solihull. The same much-viewed site – Wikipedia – also tells us he has appeared in Inspector Morse and Brookside.
Unfortunately, none of these facts is true.
“I was actually born in Southampton,” says Rupert, who shot to fame as Jamie Baldwin in Coronation Street, a role he recently reprised for one episode. “They got the first two letters right, I suppose!
“I don’t understand how Wikipedia works but I guess I should try to change it, as now everyone assumes I’m from Solihull.” — Preceding unsigned comment added by Clooneymark (talk • contribs) 13:34, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
