Rambling Untitled Stuff

[edit]

It is too much Marx, who did not much argue about the "ruling" class. Better introduce the controversy between Friedrich Engels and Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk (Macht und Markt = "Power and Market"). -- €pa 01:11, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, modern anti-capitalists also refer to a ruling class (and these are more relevant), as did some racial equality campaigners. 82.21.148.214 15:35, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The concept of a ruling class has absolutely Nothing to do with Marx, apart from the fact that he mentioned it. He probably used commas in his writing but we dont see him mentioned on sites about punctuation. The Ruling class does not have to be the Upper Class either.

this wiki is misleading and tainted toward pro capitalism. particularly the following section

Moreover, Mattei Dogan's recent studes on elites in contemporary pluralist societies have shown that in these kinds of societies, precisely because of their complexity and their heterogeniety and particularly because of the social division of work and the multiple levels of stratification, there are not, or can not be, a coherent ruling class, even if in the past there were solid examples of ruling classes, like in the Tsarist Regime, the Ottoman Regime, and the more recent totalitarian regimes of the 20th century (communist and nazi). The concept of ruling class is incompatible with the concept of industrial society.

especially the last line, which is totally unsubstantiated and at best a conjectured opinion and at worst an outright lie.

The concept of ruling class is incompatible with the concept of industrial society.

i am removing it and will revert any re-reverting, unless somebody can provide a valid reason for including it.

that whole frigging section should be removed. Lennyzelig 18:05, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Real Examples

[edit]

Yes, examples in fiction are nice. But it is much more important to give real life examples. Please give examples of real life, and remember not to misrepresent it as a 'conspiracy behind closed doors', albeit World Economic Forum. Moreover, please cite.

POV

[edit]

"Nazism is the prime example of a ruling class gone wrong. The ruling class deceived the citizens to believing whatever thoughts they wanted to, without free of losing control of them."

Prime example of a ruling class "gone wrong"? The neutrality of this article has to be checked.

No love for the Ruling Class

[edit]

Started to clean up a disastrous section but then ... gave up. No one, especially the semi-literate individuals who are composing this text should have any problem with a properly founded ruling class. It's simply a matter of making sure that the right principles, such as the ability to properly articulate this subject, found such rule. 72.228.150.44 (talk) 03:28, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
