Untitled[edit]

This article is almost word-for-word from Rudy Youngblood's Official Site; doesn't this qualify as plagiarism? Erik 16:08, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to whoever rewrote the article. Erik 21:44, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
site has reverted back to plagiarism. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Al95521 (talkcontribs) 16:39, 7 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

African ancestry?[edit]

He stated that he was of Native ancestry...not African as well. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.16.46.86 (talk) 06:01, 4 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Changes in response to OTRS[edit]

I have removed the reference to this person being African American, and also the purported birth name, as his manager has notified us via OTRS that neither of those is true. - Mark 07:34, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What Nation is he apart of?[edit]

Rudy is no way a member of any Cree, Comanche or Yaqui Tribe. This is disrespectful for him to claim these Tribes. There are many others who "claim" as well but are simply not Native or enrolled in any Tribe. They do it for money, fame, etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.168.231.113 (talk) 14:43, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Youngblood is a member of nations. He graduated from Belton High School in 2000; his parents insisted that he finish high school before he could do anything else."

This first part of this paragraph doesn’t make sense. Exactly what “nation”/tribe is he apart of? US Nations in the Southwestern States-Hopi nation, Apache Nation, Comanche Nation, Navajo Nation? Is his family from Mexico of Zapotec, Mixtec, or Aztec ancestry? Thanks. --Pilot expert 09:18, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Somebody vandalized that portion of the page. I have reverted it. Horologium t-c 02:10, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So what is this supposed to mean? "He has a black grandfather." -- Skowronek The Lark (talk) 11:36, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It means his grandfather was African American. I'm sure the statement could be worded in a better fashion, however. Many Native Americans in the United States have some black ancestry; see Black_Indians_in_the_United_States. Stonemason89 (talk) 15:54, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Birthday and official website[edit]

Two things: first, the official website has been taken down, and someone has parked the domain. Second, on his fan club site, someone is wishing him a happy 26th birthday this past year. Assuming his official fan club knows his age, the year he was born as listed on this site is wrong. It currently says 1982. It should probably be 1983. -Rob —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.216.117.142 (talk) 06:15, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Native American ancestry[edit]

Given this seems to be an area of controversy I looked into the available online sources. These support the article in its' current form, which is that he changed his name and he claims Native American ancestry, which has been questioned. I cannot find anything to be stronger than that. As such I have reverted the recent changes which assert that he has not NA ancestry without providing evidence.

Please do not reinstate these changes without support from reliable sources - see WP:BLP and WP:RS. |→ Spaully ~talk~  15:16, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Education[edit]

"Upon graduation, he was offered Fulbright scholarships to major colleges in both art and track and field, but he chose Native dance instead."

This is not how the Fulbright Program works. The student program funds non-U.S. students for graduate degrees in the United States, or U.S. students for research or study abroad. Someone would not be "offered Fulbright scholarships" for a regular four-year college degree, and they are also not athletic scholarships such as one would receive for track and field. 64.186.107.251 (talk) 00:37, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing this out (this page is only on my watchlist because of his claims of Comanche ancestry). I just removed Fulbright, so hopefully he really was offered scholarships. Yuchitown (talk) 01:42, 25 July 2022 (UTC)Yuchitown[reply]
