Original Rucker Pro Tournament

[edit]

Do we really need to list the players that have played in the tournament? It seems that many of the prominent NBA players have played there for at least one game. Also, I think the "Important players" section should be renamed, and only list the players that grew up in the area and played at the court prior to turning pro, with refs of course... Any objections? --Travis Thurston+ 05:08, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notable Players

[edit]

While many professional basketball players have played at the court after gaining prominence, many others developed their basketball skills at Rucker prior to becoming notable in the sport. These players include: . . . Barack Obama . . .

Notable Rucker Park Players?

[edit]

Kevin Durant should be removed from this list immediately. The section states "While many professional basketball players have played at the court after gaining prominence, many others developed their basketball skills at Rucker prior to becoming notable in the sport. These players include:" Kevin Durant did not develop his basketball skills at Rucker Park prior to becoming notable in the sport. The 66-point game was his first outing there; he'd already won the NBA Scoring Title twice.

As for the other players on the list, they should also be reviewed for inclusion on this list. --Korhoden (talk) 17:46, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely agree Kevin Durant does not belong, was shocked to see him on the list and made me question the rest of the names. Blazersguy (talk) 00:07, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The truth is that every single person on that list with a "citation needed" should be removed unless their wikipedia page has a citation to verify they played there. Yesterday I started to go through line by line, but I think that, for now, I'm just going to take them all out. Also, feel free to remove anyone else (like Durant) who doesn't meet the "prior" requirement. Qwyrxian (talk) 00:11, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure when this was changed back from your edits, but I am removing the names of players who don't fit the criteria once again. 71.123.139.119 (talk) 07:08, 26 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
