  • This is the second time tonight that I have cut and pasted an infobox for something and double checked it five times but it STILL is not displaying correctly. Why is this? It doesn't make any sense? Can someone please both fix this and ALSO explain to me what I did wrong? Pacian 09:40, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The Jon Witherspoon wikilink was never closed, confusing the wiki syntax parser. — TKD (Talk) 10:07, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination for deletion

[edit]

This entry was given a nomination for deletion (originally a speedy deletion nomination) by an unregistered user whose only contribution was that nomination (and a nomination for deletion of Starbooty. The film series is an iconic and well known part of the history of under ground GLBT culture, and it featured a number of people who went on to be celebrities both in and out of that culture. It was also the precursor to a higher budget film which won numerous awards at film festivals. The nomination for deletion was spurious and nonsensical; the very content of the article gives credence to the notability of the film series. TheGoonSquad 19:05, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article was not nominated for speedy deletion, as you say. Kindly cite sources to back up your contention that this film is "iconic" and "well known." This film is known in queer culture, but not beyond it. To what film do you refer which won "numerous awards" at film festivals? Does that film have an article here at WP? Were these "festivals" only gay festivals? The nom was neither spurious nor nonsensical: the summary for cause was accurate, and you are within your rights to remove it. However, if I were you I would devote some time to referencing the article to remove any doubts among well-intentioned Wikipedians. You make several sweeping statements but have no sources to back them up. And, there are possible WP:COI issues here. --72.76.90.236 19:35, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
