I
[edit]I have taken out the bit about it not being as old as the RCSE: this article is about The RCP, not about Scottish nationalism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.42.233.125 (talk • contribs)
Quite right. The Barber-Surgeons of Dublin got their charter from the Lord of Ireland (AKA King Henry VI of England) before the surgeons of Edinburgh got theirs from the King of Scotland. NRPanikker (talk) 18:54, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

1674 By Henry VIII?
[edit]I'm not an expert on this subject, but someone needs to fix that date, and/or the person. There's no need to state that Henry VIII was long dead by 1674? Is it Charles II that gave the charter, or is it the date that's wrong, if not both? Just felt the need to point that out LeftAire (talk) 20:57, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
Coltridge
[edit]I've added tags of doubt to the remark about him in the Facility section. I can find no reliable evidence for his existence, let alone his involvement in the design. If anyone can source this, please feel free.

Picture of Cambridge Gate removed
[edit]I have removed the link, in the history section of this article, to the image of Cambridge Gate, Regent's Park, NW1 4JX, wrongly labeled as being of the Royal College of Physicians. Cambridge Gate is a terrace of residential properties which, though next door to the college, otherwise has absolutely no connection with it.
Notability of becoming a fellow
[edit]Does anyone know if being elected a Fellow of the RCP is presitigious enough to support a claim to notability? I don't have a sense of how rare it is. -Furicorn (talk) 02:00, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
"FRCP (Lon)" listed at Redirects for discussion
[edit]An editor has identified a potential problem with the redirect FRCP (Lon) and has thus listed it for discussion. Date Format
[edit]Today User DI2000 changed the date of St Luke's Day from 18th to 18 October with the remark "ordinals not normally used in dates." Maybe that's true of Canadian English, but in British English we have the well-known rhyme "Remember, remember, the Fifth of November/ Gunpowder, treason and plot./ There is no reason the gunpowder treason/ Should ever be forgot." NRPanikker (talk) 15:56, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- Please have a look at MOS:DATESNO to see explanations of what date formats are considered acceptable and those that are not. Drchriswilliams (talk) 16:49, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- Well, wudyakno? The article is tagged as being in British English, but we still have to follow American (or Canadian) conventions when giving dates.NRPanikker (talk) 02:58, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
