Roshan's Actual Origins
[edit]There is still a debate regarding Roshan's actual origins, as his surname Nagrath is specific Khatri clans, so it's highly unlikely that he could be a Saraswat Brahmin but a Punjabi Khatri. 86.28.232.110 (talk) 12:18, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- The source used [1] is a WP:ICTF compliant, which supports the mention in the article. You have to find a reliable source which explicitly mentions 'Khatri'. Blogs and unreliable sources like Celebswiki, StarUnfolded, etc wouldn't do. Also bring it to this talk page section first, so that we can build up a WP:CONSENSUS here per WP:BRD, instead of directly changing content in the article page . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:36, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
Do not edit unless you read articles in foot note
[edit]Look at your source content that YOU footnoted and Ira Roshan’s wiki page. She was his SECOND wife. There were two children from the first marriage. I will disclose a personal relationship with the family. 66.214.10.113 (talk) 16:16, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Wikipedia articles are not reliable sources themselves. The source in this particular article only mentions two sons. The source used in Ira Roshan's article isn't reliable either and doesn't mention anything about a "second marriage". What we can do at this point, abiding by WP:NOR policy, is to reword a few sentences. Secondly, Wikipedia used WP:Independent sources, not you or me. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:23, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
Can you read? The footnotes article you added yourself mentions the second marriage? You are wrong and doing bad edits. There is a first marriage with two children. 66.214.10.113 (talk) 16:33, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Can you clarify it properly? "YOU footnoted" isn't clear enough and you mentioned "Ira Roshan’s wiki page", and the source included there ([2]) doesn't mention any "second marriage". Besides, there is no mention of any other children besides Rakesh and Rajesh in the sources in this article, though I missed one that talked about the second marriage. Also maintain WP:CIVIL, lest you want to get blocked. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:42, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
Looks like you have now found what you “missed” which was my original point. I believe you should not edit until you read thoroughly. There are two children from the first marriage if they are not notable leave them out of info box but do not add a sentence saying he left behind 2 sons when you do not know the actual outcome of first marriage also whether first wife also survived him which she did. I suggest you stop editing this page lest you make another mistake like the one you admitted you missed here. 66.214.10.113 (talk) 16:51, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Says the one trying to add unsourced content. If you have any idea how Wiki works, you'd have known that the "left behind 2 sons" bit wasn't added by me but someone else, a valid edit nonetheless. But, I did add a source to support the names of those two notable sons. And it is kinda funny to ask someone to stop editing. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:52, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- And yet I was still able to read an article without missing anything and have a conversation about it without tattling to a moderator to cover my mistakes. 66.214.10.113 (talk) 18:07, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- "Missing anything", you mean trying to fabricate content that isn't actually written in any of the sources? Read WP:OR and WP:V. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:28, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Just using your own words regarding your mistake. Similar to how I simply read the article cited. Best wishes with your continued aptitude as a wiki editor I’ll return to real life now. Also, Nagrath is Khatri, I’m sure you’ll find out soon. 66.214.10.113 (talk) 20:13, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oh no, your primary agenda was to force unsourced names of people into this article disingenuously. That's what you did after "simply reading the article cited". FYI, your "personal knowledge" has no business here in Wikipedia. Is this your latest IP-proxy? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 21:16, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
