Comments on assessment

[edit]

The "High-importance" rating is based on at least one journal article that uses Roridula as an example for the evolutionary aspects of the carnivorous syndrome by way of what they called "digestive mutualism." I plan to add that info in the future and maybe roll it into the main CP article evolution section. --Rkitko 07:46, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Many Carnivorous Plant Growers consider Cobra Plant as a true Carnivorous Plant even though it does not produce it's own digestive enzymes, and relies on a type of flying midge to do it for them. Therefore, if Darlingtonia is considered a true carnivorous plant, then Roridula should fall upon the ranks because it cannot produce it's own enzymes, but attract and kill prey successfully as Darlingtonia does.

This would have to be referenced and toned down a bit to avoid POV problems. It just needs to be reworded a bit to make it read less like advice and more like a statement of authority (i.e. John Doe, author of yadda yadda book on carnivorous plants, asserts that...). --Rkitko 08:26, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

tentacles(trichomes?) and poo(droppings, frass, faeces?), and probably plenty more, i think the overhauled article might need an overhaul, reintegrating important info from the original, to employ correct terminology and grammar, this is en.wikipedia, not simple.wikipedia, after all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.202.6.163 (talk) 03:00, 19 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
