Capitalisation
[edit]Hello, visitors to Ropewalks!
Is there a reason for Ropewalks to be capitalised as "RopeWalks" in this article? Everywhere that isn't on Wikipedia (and even some other articles here), or that doesn't pull info from Wikipedia, seems to agree it is spelt with only a capital R.
People who spell it "Ropewalks", with articles linked:
The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Liverpool City Council
Tripadvisor and The Guide Liverpool
The Liverpool Echo and the BBC
The Ropewalks Hotel
Note that many of the references in the article have sources which refer to the area as "Ropewalks".
Other spellings:
"Rope Walks" from the Academy of Urbanism, though the title of the assessment has "Ropewalks"
"RopeWalks" from one of the sources for the article. This is a planning document produced to advise development of the area. I would not advise following its lead with regards to capitalisation as it seems to be capitalising the W for the sake of futuristic, investor-friendly verve (note that it usually refers to "the RopeWalks area" rather than "RopeWalks", as if RopeWalks is the name of the project rather than the place), but then I am biased.
Given that most people know Ropewalks as Ropewalks, I don't think this article should be titled RopeWalks. Seeing as this is a significant change to this specific article, I thought I should make a comment here to consult the community rather than do anything drastic and change it myself... - Indeed. Going through the sources it does appear to be 90% Ropewalks, and a single instance of Rope Walks on the BBC. Koncorde (talk) 18:58, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
