Cannibals

Just passing through; I don't have time to check sources, but do the references given at the end of the article support the assertion that some of the locals were, indeed, cannibals?--RattBoy 12:50, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, The River of Doubt, page 231: "The most striking fact about the Cinta Larga - and one that would have alarmed the expedition had they known it - was that these Indians were cannibals" .. there is no mention of "cannibal" in Through the Brazilian Wilderness, but as the above quote makes clear, they didn't know they were cannibals. -- Stbalbach 18:33, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
