Expelled?
[edit]The text reads: ...but he was expelled for playing "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" in the practice room. That seems hard to believe. Maybe there were other circumstances? -- 67.121.113.141 17:15, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
- As both a former music professor and a student of urban legends, I'd have to agree with you. Williams gave a non-answer in a recent interview, saying, "The head of the piano department came busting in the door and said, 'We don't do that here.'" Not the same as an expulsion. I'd say delete the claim as unlikely and unsourced. Gowser (talk) 20:02, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
- Then again here's a 2009 interview in which he does claim it's true. I'm going to change it to a claim instead of a statement of fact. Gowser (talk) 20:08, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Unsourced peacock
[edit]I've reomoved the following prose being added by User:RichardEricGunby (my italics, see below):
- As a gunnery mate, Roger sustained a severe injury to his left hand reloading one of the big guns. He hand was so badly crushed that the doctors feared he might never have even minimum profitable use of it, again. Over the following months he worked so diligently and with such extreme dedication to regaining the ability to play, that he not only accomplished his goal but far exceeded it. His left-hand became his power hand vastly enhancing the brilliant intonation, clarity, and precision power that so mark his playing skill.
Two problems. First, it's unsourced, and this is a BLP article.
- Not anymore. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.171.176.205 (talk) 11:04, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
Second, however, is it's full of WP:PEACOCK problems, particularly in the portion I've italicized.
I have no problem with the information itself being included if there's some citable source to believe it to be true, and if it's written in an NPOV manner. But as written, it's not appropriate for wikipedia. TJRC (talk) 01:09, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
