Name

[edit]

Mücke procceds ? I've never heard about this middle name.

His middle name is Rodrigo. --necronudist 16:46, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mücke sounds German? --77.21.229.103 (talk) 21:21, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Background

[edit]

Ceni is actually not a Turkish name according to Erdinç Sivritepe of Turkish-Soccer website. Some websites claim it is Italian but this is speculation as well. There are several Albanians on the web with the last name Ceni. So the likely explanation is that the Ceni clan of Rogerio's father is Albanian-Italian.

Yeah ,but the region that he comes from (the south) that has a big italian community probably he is italian descent and hear in brazil we didn't have a big albanian imigration. Augusto Fontes —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.53.160.122 (talk) 03:25, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He is a Brasilian Jew now? I thought he would be Albanian or Arbereshe with that last name, it is Albanian. The Arbereshe have been in Italy since the 1600s and his ancestors may have floated over the ocean with some Italians. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.66.123.180 (talk) 22:34, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mistakes

[edit]

The article contradicts itself - the no. of caps is different in the text than in the infobox. ugen64 03:56, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BBC says he has 16, so I'm gonna say that's he correct figure and edit accordingly--Tiresais 14:56, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Years at Senior Career and National Team are obviously incorrect. Should be "1992-" for Senior Career (not "2015-") at São Paulo and "1997–2006" for National Team (not "2016-"). It appears to be an error on the English-language page only - the Years on the pages of other languages are fine. 17:51, 7 November 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.176.105.141 (talk)

Inaccurate Comaprison?

[edit]

The article compares his attacking skills to those of Chilavert and Compos. Fair enough for Chilavert, but Compos was utilised as a striker, unlike the other two, who were full-time keepers who also took free kicks and penalties.

number of titles

[edit]

"In the same year, on November 19, Ceni won his first (and São Paulo's fourth) Campeonato Brasileiro title." but the sao paolo won in the 1991 year also, and Rogerio played there since 1990, so what about the 1991's title? --84.234.42.68 23:12, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Free Kicks

[edit]

Cmon, seriously? One of the best free kick takers in the world? Who seriously thinks that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.170.8.75 (talk) 16:18, 13 October 2007 (UTC) I do. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.189.86.92 (talk) 02:14, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I do too, and I'm not a São Paulo's fanatic supporter. I think your commentary isn't serious. LeonMello (talk) 04:17, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bola de Ouro

[edit]

This article incorrectly states that Ceni has won the Bola de Ouro on five occasions, he has won a Bola de Prata on five occasions, but never the Bola de Ouro. BigTurnip (talk) 22:29, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have changed it now. BigTurnip (talk) 23:25, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Number of goals

[edit]

It's being reported that he has scored his 100th goal but the article says he's only scored 48. There's a note saying that's for domestic league goals, so where have the other 52 come from? Surely any goals scored for any club at any level should be counted, maybe if there's some weird exception it should be added in a footnote. Will Bradshaw (talk) 09:18, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

They came in other competitions like the Copa do Brasil, Campeonato Paulista, Copa Libertadores. But, the infobox should only show the number of domestic league goals because they are the easiest data to be found for most players. It's a matter of consistency. International caps

[edit]

I've changed the total to 16 in the info box and in the "caps by year" table, as both the main text and the full list of caps say 16, but is the unofficial game vs Barcelona counted (which is the only way I can see that makes 17)? 81.129.114.170 (talk) 22:45, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea what this means.

[edit]

"On May 29, 2013, after poor performance goaling Vasco da Gama causing the defeat São Paulo against cruzmaltinos by 5-1, in game valid by Brazilian League, Ceni said that will not ever play below good conditions again." If anyone knows what that is supposed to convey, please, edit it in. finval (talk) 04:59, 10 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There is a lot of wrong and old information such as appearances, goals, career and others which i could update. 191.255.91.67 (talk) 20:34, 6 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 23:30, 6 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Religion?

[edit]

There have been multiple edits placing Ceni in the Category:Brazilian atheists although a reference has never been provided. I did a quick search on Ceni's religious beliefs and this is the only result I got, and itself seams pretty inconclusive (I'm not a native Portuguese speaker though). My suggestion is that Ceni shouldn't be categorized in any religious or spiritual viewpoint categories until a reliable source can be provided. Thanks. Inter&anthro (talk) 01:01, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Religious catergories should only be add if sourced and relevant. If he is atheist, then a mention of why this is important or relevant would need to be shown not as a mere "he is atheist so he goes in this category". As per WP:BLPCAT;
Categories regarding religious beliefs or sexual orientation should not be used unless the subject has publicly self-identified with the belief or orientation in question, and the subject's beliefs or sexual orientation are relevant to their public life or notability, according to reliable published sources. Sinop

[edit]

I can't find a reliable source on his stint with Sinop.Does anyone have knowledge about his 20 (non league?) appearences for Sinop(according to the statistic table)? Appreciate any feedback in this matter.

Possible source for expansion

[edit]

I don't have time to go through and add from it right now, but this appears at a glance to be reliable and is at least in English, which makes it easier for those of us who don't speak Portuguese and thus can't readily parse the more local sources.
