[edit]

Although it looks wrong, the band did indeed name themselves No Coment with only one M ChrisTheDude 12:30, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Should have used a Heavy metal umlaut instead, in my opinion :) JoachimK 13:01, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed Comment

"Simmons will be working with students from a poor, deprived area" Lowestoft is actually NOT a poor deprived area. There has been outrage in Lowestoft over Rock School's portrayal of the town, especially as a poor, largely older-populated place.Liss 14:51, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well...

[edit]

As someone who (unfortunately, and begrudgingly) lives in Lowestoft, I can tell you that Lowestoft is a deprived in Rock School is exaggurated - the town does have a large-ish proportion of old people, but it isn't as significant as shown. In addition, although Kirkley is far from a fantastic school, I have to go there for some lessons, the students aren't etc.) and it doesn't do too badly - Obviously,

Idiots mangling posts

[edit]

Some fool decided to mangle my post (above) - here's the original:

As someone who (unfortunately, and begrudgingly) lives in Lowestoft, I can tell you that Lowestoft is a deprived area, with very few opportunities for young people. I accept that a reasonable amount of what is portrayed in Rock School is exaggurated - the town does have a large-ish proportion of old people, but it isn't as significant as shown. In addition, although Kirkley is far from a fantastic school, I have to go there for some lessons, the students aren't quite as rebellious as portrayed (with a lot of this being stirred up by the programmes' producers etc.) and it doesn't do too badly - although it is widely regarded as the worst of the three high schools in the town, a fact that the statistics tend to back up. Obviously, the locals aren't going to be too chuffed with being portrayed in the way they sometimes are, but the truth can hurt...jkl.

ludicrous statement

[edit]

How can you blame a TOWN for being rundown! The TOWN is a NAME. It cannot control itself. People vandalise things and then have the cheek to moan about the town rundown. Will people please take note of this fact. A town is rundown through neglect and vandalism. Not because its a town. Kirkley High is the state it is because of the small minority of pupils who disrupt peoples learning and cause havoc. If Kirkley excluded every misbehaving child in the school there would be hardly anyone left. Except for the people who want a good education

Someone desperately needs to get there facts straight!

   * Children at the school claim they were not given the opportunity to prevent their faces being shown on television, but a large number of them did not return the letter they were sent home with. It clearly stated that unless it was returned with a signature, their face would remain un-pixellated.[citation needed] However, the form was not distributed to the members of the 6th form at the school, which took students from two other local schools.

This is NOT true as i went to that school and i received no letter neither did the other 500 people in my year group.
