Cooperative Principles vs. Rochdale Principles

[edit]

In my experience, the principles by which most cooperatives today conduct themselves are known as the Cooperative Principles. The Rochdale Principles, as laid out by the Rochdale pioneers, are the origin of the Cooperative Principles, but the term refers to the original incarnation of them. I'm wondering if most of the information on this page might not be more appropriate on a page called Cooperative Principles (not to be confused with the Cooperative principle of course). Thoughts? • I strongly support the suggestion to collect all the articles currently in Category:Cooperative principles into a single general article called Cooperative principles (or Cooperative Principles as some may prefer to call it), which furthermore should be separate and distinct from the existing particular article Rochdale Principles. Today Cooperative principles redirct to Rochdale Principles, and this redirect will need to be eliminated. --Zlerman (talk) 13:15, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • My thought: merge the principles articles into (sections of) this one: they can always be broken out again later when their length becomes unfeasible. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 14:45, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If all the articles have been merged here, we can't merge and delete them 'cuz of GFDL attribution clauses. I'm redirecting all the pages instead of deleting. Cheers. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 13:11, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
