Proposal to make this a redirect page

[edit]

As Kulin as no longer an astronaut candidate, I prose turning this page into a redirect to NASA Astronaut Group 22. I know there was some controversy about WP:NOTE for all of the astronaut candidates when their pages were created, with the conclusion being that a lack of space flights so far doesn't preclude them from having a page. However, as Kulin resigned from his candidacy, he will not become an astronaut. Curious to hear what others think. Balon Greyjoy (talk) 00:21, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I was about to write that many astronauts never flew, which is true, but they graduated from astronaut-candidate to full-on astronaut. Not sure if we have examples of astronaut-candidates that dropped out. I think there is enough notability and sources to allow for a short article, but I could be wrong there. I saw you make that argument when the individual pages for all of Group 22 were candidates for deletion. I just think that since that cause for his notability was his presumed astronaut status, that he may no longer qualify. That's why I'm arguing to make this page into a redirect to the Group 22 page. That's fair. I think you should AfD it and see what happens. I think I will vote for keep depending on the discussion, but it is probably worth a discussion with the broader (non-space) community. Kees08 (Talk) 03:15, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There seems to be news coverage - maybe even more because he is the only one who resigned. --mfb (talk) 01:49, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
