Rob was satirized of his standard movie types in South Park in the episode "The Biggest Douche in the Universe". Currently, the article says that Schneider was "a cast member and writer for [...] Saturday Night Live from 1988 to 1994" (emphasis mine). According to Variety and CNN, he was hired as a writer in 1988 and became a cast member in 1990. Your source only talks about him "appearing" on the show.
