I have Hoffman as my prof for intro chem at Cornell. He's sweet and a great teacher! : ) Lepidoptera 22:41, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion notice

[edit]

Hoffmann really deserves a longer article considering how central he has been considered in chemistry. Also comparing this article to that for Woodward, the difference is remarkable. Olin

Agreed; made it a high-priority item. Lightwiki 01:29, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Woodward

[edit]

This:- "while Woodward had died two years previously otherwise he probable would have shared it as well (it would have been Woodward's second Nobel Prize for Chemistry)." has just been added. I removed it to here. If anyone can cite real evidence for this claim, we can put it back, otherwise it should stay out of the article. --Bduke 09:00, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Awards

[edit]

Which awards should be links and which should not? Thoughts? Lightwiki 01:29, 23 June 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I think all awards should have links to the award itself and to the Society that awards it, but only if the links are real. There should be no redlinks. If someone does a new article, they should search for articles that contain the name. There are places for redlinks to encourage new articles, but I do not think that a list of awards is that place. Such lists often contain redlinks that will never become articles. In many cases the award or medal should just be mentioned in the article on the Society that awards it and not have an article itself. --Bduke 02:32, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. Have at it!-- LightWiki 04:51, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I should add that I do not think that items in the list of awards should be linked if they have previously been linked earlier in the article. --Bduke 01:58, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
