Proposed New Section: Proposed Renovation=

[edit]

I think we should add a new section about the proposed renovation from Mayor Levine Cava, and move all of the Plan Z material into this section. It it likely to be a huge capital project. Miratony (talk) 17:56, 5 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

[edit]

This article is written about the Rickenbacker Causeway and its history, not the Florida State Road that was first designated on the mainland, then extended across it in the 1990s. If you have any comments about/for the State Road 913 (Florida) article, please write them at the discussion page for the other article. B.Wind 12:54, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'd strongly suggest three things:
  1. If SPUI insists on spreading his revert war over to this article, that you request that an admin protect this article until the other controversy is resolved; and
  2. Any discussion involving the length or location of the unsigned State Road be moved to the Talk:State Road 913 (Florida) or User talk:SPUI discussion page; and
  3. Once the issue is finally settled, resolve the ambiguity here and archive the discussion there as a case study of a battle of egos.

SPUI, please stop the reversions until and unless the other issue is settled first -- that is, until you are willing to admit that the SR 913 designation extends to the end of the Rickenbacker Causeway. But you are adamant that the designation ends at the northern entrance of the causeway (that SR 913 is strictly on the mainland). Thus you are contradicting yourself... and WP:POINT might be coming into play. All you have to do to resolve the other issue (on State Road 913 (Florida)) by submitting the reference that changed you from "I think" in 2004 to obstinate certainty in 2006. Show me the reference that you didn't have when you wrote this in your terminus gallery section that was in the last available version of your former "Freeway" site. In the meantime, removal of references is vandalism. B.Wind 16:45, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal

[edit]

Unless SPUI is stating that SR 913 and the Rickenbacker Causeway are one and the same (and because of the mainland segment of the State Road, I would not make that statement), a merge of the two articles would be most inappropriate because of their different focus. In addition, it would not be appropriate to involve State Road 913 (Florida) in any merge until/unless the revert war comes to an end. B.Wind 12:54, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The New(current) bridge

[edit]

Was the new bridge built in 1985 or opened in 1985? It seems it would have had to been built before 85. I don't know how long it takes to construct a bridge. But the article says 5 years after 1980 it was built and opened. I'm trying to establish a timeline because I just watched the season 2 episode of Miami Vice called "Definitely Miami" (the one with Ted Nugent) and several scenes are shot on the half built bridge. It appeared to be shot where the toll both is now (before it was built) going toward the first big hump. This would make the construction way before 85. Can anyone clarify the construction times?
