[edit]This page should not be deleted: This individual, Richard "Richie" Peter Davis is a musician of important note since 1969 and has been around the Chicago area for over 50 years. This person is very well known here in Chicago, Illinois as well as nationally as a session musician as well as a performer of R&B/rock guitar and pop music. He and the band have also done several soundtracks for various movies under the of Andrew Davis. He is one of the founders of the cover band/musical organization known as the Chicago Catz, LLC which is comprised of many very notable/important individuals/musicians that have become an integral part of the Chicago music scene locally, as well as being known nationally, internationally and professionally for close to 30 years.Jazzfann (talk) 16:40, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- How exactly does this individual meet any of the notability requirements of WP:MUSICBIO -- and which reliable sources would allow a reader to verify that? Accounting4Taste:talk 18:17, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
This individual (as well as all the members in the band which will be receiving bios) meets criteria number 10 of the WP:NM and notability requirements of WP:MUSICBIO as stated there: "10. Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album, etc. Please refer to the movie The Guardian http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0406816/fullcredits where the band was featured in the movie as well as the movie Holes http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0311289/soundtrack. Also this individual is cited in Studs Terkel's book, "Race: What Blacks and Whites Think and Feel About the American Obsession (1992). ISBN 978-1565840003" which I believe meets criteria number one as well, to wit: 1. Has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician or ensemble itself and reliable Jazzfann (talk) 19:16, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
I have removed the speedy-delete tag, since the delete is contested. I have added a notability tag. Unless better sources are found, I will return and nominate it for deletion via WP:AFD soon. There you will have a chance for a more comprehensive discussion, but in my opinion the article will probably be deleted unless you can come up with better assertions of notability with references. Note that the notability of a band does not convey notability on each or any of its members. Herostratus (talk) 03:35, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
