University of Nottingham School of Community Health Sciences removed as it no longer mentions Prof Wilkinson. Vernon White . . . Talk 21:41, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

University of Sussex

[edit]

Wilkinson appears to have spent some time at the Trafford Centre for Medical Research, University of Sussex, Brighton. Vernon White . . . Talk 21:41, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

...has shown... - has he indeed?!

[edit]

The article states that R. W. had shown in his publications xy to be the case. The article on his apparently best-known book, The Spirit Level: Why More Equal Societies Almost Always Do Better, however indicates that there exists a significant controversy in academic circles about the thesis/theses put foreward by him. / Social sciences is not my subject and anyway it is not my business to judge who may be right to what extent for which reasons in that dispute, just it looks that the wording in the article here is inadaequate and misleading, do you not think so?

Indeed. I have updated the article to remove this bias. cagliost (talk) 08:25, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Publication dates

[edit]

The article tells us that his masters thesis dates from 1976, his first book from an independent publisher in London, however, dating from 1973. That seems quite unusual, does it not? -- 147.142.186.54 (talk) 17:30, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not really. Lots of people publish books without a master's thesis!. Jenafalt (talk) 07:16, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know one must not link from the article directly to outside internet sources, as (an) author/s has/have done here! -- 147.142.186.54 (talk) 17:32, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
