Overall: Earwig checks out; it picks up a few bits and pieces, but they have all been accounted for in quotation marks. My biggest concern for the article is that some of the references are questionable (e.g., Spotify), and the article needs some rewriting for grammar and style. @Launchballer and Significa liberdade: was going to promote this to Prep 6, but I'm uneasy that this BLP is unduly weighted towards Richards' accusations in the personal life section. At around 340 words, it's nearly half of the article body, and much of the second paragraph seems to have much more to do with Wet Leg than Teasdale specifically. Essentially, I'm citing WP:BLPBALANCE and querying whether the biography of a very talented woman needs to focus so much on the accusations of an ex. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 23:12, 9 September 2023 (UTC)

I think the problem with the article is that the rest of it isn't big enough. (When writing about band members who I'm not convinced are actually notable, I go short on band stuff on the grounds that a) the band article should cover it already, and b) in my mind it helps ram home notability.) Personal life section

Much of the information in this section seems focused on Wet Leg, not Teasdale. How much of this information should be removed? I've taken the liberty of partially restoring an earlier version of that section and rewording it so that the first sentence is about her, with the rest after 'for this'. I say this helps give context.--Launchballer 10:27, 5 August 2023 (UTC)

Famous Italian Ancestor

An online comment made by a distant relation of Teasdale alerted me to the fact that she has a famous Italian ancestor. I checked up on this being a keen genealogist myself and it's true she is a descendant of Anthony Panizzi a famous Italian immigrant to England in the 19th century who has his own wiki page. Her paternal grandmother was a Panizzi.C3MC2 (talk) 16:44, 12 February 2024 (UTC)

Lead

• In July 2023, Plastic Mermaids' frontman Douglas Richards made several scurrilous allegations about Teasdale and Wet Leg. I am concerned that putting this where it is in the lead is a BLP violation. The body copy and overall weight given seem fine, however.
  • Plastic Mermaids is not a possessive here (it is being used as an adjective), so the apostrophe should be removed.

If my understanding of BLP policy is correct (and tell me if it isn't), then I'm not sure I see that problem; it takes up around a seventh of the lead and around a fifth of the body. What I have done instead is changed 'made' to 'was criticised after making', as it felt unfair to omit that piece of context. I have also cut the apostrophe.

Going by the accessdate, I have a horrible feeling I nicked that from the Wet Leg article. I don't fancy wading through a podcast at nearly three in the morning so I've replaced the reference.

• 32: The original Times article. Rhian has spoken many times about the fact her ex-boyfriend is the subject of several Wet Leg songs. “Wet Dream is a break-up song,” she told one interviewer. She is referring to Doug, something other sources close to the band have confirmed, and the pain of their break-up gives the album its defiant, savage energy. “You’re like a piece of s***, you either sink or you float,” Rhian sings in the song Piece of Shit. The thing about these ex-boyfriend albums is we almost never hear from the ex-boyfriend. How does it feel to be on the receiving end of a globally acclaimed character assassination?
