First Philippine Republic

[edit]

In this edit, I removed the word "finally" regarding the First Philippine Republic (FPR) government. The reason I did this is that the difference between a revolutionary government and an unrecognized independent sovereign state (the description in the lead of the FPR article). The Philippine Declaration of Independence occurred between the BnB government and Aguinaldo's Dictatorial goverment; If that declaration was significant, were not the other governments mentioned in this article as revolutionary governments, or most of them, not as much unrecognized independent sovereign states as the FPR is said to have been?

I see that I tried to get a discussion about this going some months ago at Talk:First Philippine Republic § Characterization, contention, and the article lead, but no discussion developed there. I'll place a link there to this discussion here . There is a structural difference between the FPR and the other governments mentioned here in that the FPR included the Malolos Congress and was constituted by the Malolos Constitution created by that body (and promulgated as described here). If that is to be taken as the key difference, should not that be clarified and a reliable source supporting that be cited.

If it\s not glaringly obvious by now, I have no training in Political Science. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 11:11, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
